Scott Mercer, ex capo progettista degli scontri di World of Warcraft

C'è moltissimo spazio, quindi abbiamo dovuto pensare a come riempirlo.

Scott Mercer, ex capo progettista degli scontri di World of Warcraft

Secondo me siamo riusciti a fare un buon lavoro.

Ion Hazzikostas, direttore di gioco di World of Warcraft

Morgan Day, capo progettista degli scontri

    Michael Chaudhary, MMO Champion

"Abbiamo lavorato parecchio affinché l'effetto su Gathios funzionasse come previsto.

We’re currently working on a hotfix intended to significantly reduce the amount of time it takes to reach the Artifact Knowledge cap of 40, in order to allow returning players to catch up more quickly.Specifically, this hotfix will reduce the time it takes to research ranks of Artifact Knowledge between 26 and 40 to approximately 4 hours each. We hope to make this retroactive to any work orders already in progress when the hotfix is applied. Once these changes are live, a returning player should be able to reach the maximum level of Artifact Knowledge in only a few days. This hotfix will require extensive testing, but our goal is to apply it within the next day or so.

Chromie: gamine gnome, powerful bronze dragon, and time-twisting ally; a friendly force who makes ‘being Chromie’ look so easy, so much fun. Which is why it’s heartbreaking to have to tell you that when patch 7.2.5 hits, Chromie will die. Again, and again, and again, and again.

Which goes to show that being Chromie is equally a blessing and a curse. Of course Chromie is chirpy, it makes sense: she protects the timelines, stopping any who dare to unleash chaos and destroy our rightful, hopeful future. But it also has a significant drawback - Chromie knows that many possible futures contain cruelty, pain, and destruction. More specifically, they contain death.

    TGHN0P6REA5I1496250493530.jpg

Chromie has always known when she (and you, incidentally) will die, but something has changed in her timeline – and not for the better. The death she now sees is not the one she’s supposed to have, which is where you come in. You must help Chromie investigate who is behind these attacks and put a stop to them. And, maybe, you’ll work out what Chromie did (or didn’t) do that’s got somebody hellbent on ending her life.

    Time Waits For No Gnome

Playing with time poses some interesting problems. Time is intangible, which is why its behavior feels erratic - speeding up when we’re having fun and slowing down when we’re doing something we’re not fantastically excited about. But this is your chance to witness just how quickly time flies when the death of a good friend hangs in the balance.

    SJZF5337NWPZ1496250493537.jpg

As sure as the moons circle Azeroth and Khadgar’s beard grows ever greyer, the only way to measure time is to observe it changing. That’s why we can draw the logical conclusion that the arrow of time moves forward, because we can remember things that happened before now, but we don’t remember what’s happened next. Until now.

It’s That Time Again (And Again)

If you offer to help Chromie, she will send you forward in time to the moment of her death, then work backwards in the forwards to make the now move forward in the right direction – which is not backwards, but needs to be forwards in the right version of forward. Still with me? Good. Because our unknown assassin has done their homework: pre-empting the many ways you and Chromie can put a stop to their plan. All you can do is work back from effect to cause – learning as you re-visit events – shutting down all the possible ways that Chromie can die.

    4IZYV24ZYKTG1496250494865.jpg

So, Champion, are you ready to for some time-travelling, dragonshrine-visiting, portal-opening, buff-giving, reputation-rewarding, transmog-collecting, head-spinning, Chromie-saving battles? Head to Dalaran, speak with Khadgar and take the portal to Wyrmrest. Lend Chromie your brain, and your brawn, to prevent her untimely death. Because Chromie finally gets her very own story to tell, and it’s about time.

This week’s update doesn’t bring any major additions to the PTR, but does have a few changes worth calling out.

We’re enabling the Kirin Tor Tavern Crawl for some additional testing. While it’s not exactly new to 7.2.5, we’d still appreciate any testing we can get, as we want to be sure we’ve ironed out all the bugs. There should be an NPC in Dalaran who can direct you to the right place.

We’ll also be turning on Black Temple Timewalking again. As you’ve probably surmised, last week’s test had to be cancelled at the last minute, so this time we’re just going to open it up for testing on Friday and leave it open all weekend. We’ve done some difficulty tuning since the last time it was available, so please give it a look and let us know how it goes!

The Chromie scenario will not be available for testing this week; as we’ve been playing through it ourselves, we’ve been finding opportunities to add some additional polish and shine in a few areas, and want to have all of that in place before opening it up for feedback. We really like the direction it’s headed, though, and hope you will too once we’ve got it ready for PTR in the next week or so.

There’s another round of class changes in this build, including some fairly significant changes to Vengeance Demon Hunter meant to help clean up the rotation a little bit (particularly in regards to Soul Fragments). Not all of these changes will be immediately apparent from reading tooltips, so we’d love to hear your thoughts after spending some time with them in-game.

You’ll also see a few changes to set bonuses in this build. We’re continuing to make tuning adjustments to Tier 20 set bonuses, and a few of those will be in this build. You may also see a number of changes to Tier 19 (Nighthold) set bonuses. This is to ensure that the Tier 20 pieces are a reasonable upgrade over Tier 19, without having to make the Tier 20 bonuses blatantly overpowered. Please keep in mind when testing these changes that we’re still working on overall class balance for 7.2.5.Thanks, and happy testing!

    • Se la spedizione non viene completata in tempo, si otterrà una Chiave del Potere di un livello inferiore, per un'istanza casuale;
    • Se la spedizione non viene proprio completata, si otterrà una Chiave del Potere di un livello inferiore, ma della stessa spedizione;

Quindi altre modifiche previste saranno:

    • Non si riceveranno più forzieri di ricompense addizionali per il completamento veloce della spedizione;
    • Quando si completa una spedizione Mitica+, il forziere conterrà due oggetti e un'appropriata quantità di Potere Artefatto;
    • Se si completa la spedizione prima del limite, ci sarà un terzo oggetto nel forziere;

We’ve been thrilled to see how positively players have responded to Mythic Keystone dungeons since Legion’s release. However, there are a couple areas in which our original design for the system hasn’t quite matched up with how things have worked out in practice. In an upcoming 7.2.5 PTR build, we’re going to try out a couple of changes to how Keystone runs work.

The first big change is that we’re getting rid of the depletion mechanic. We’d originally imagined that getting ahold of a Keystone would be more of a barrier than it is, but in reality, there are so many players participating that it’s generally not too difficult to find someone with a Keystone you’d like to run. In that environment, depleting a Keystone is more of an annoyance than anything else – especially when it happens for reasons outside of your control (such as a player disconnecting).

Instead, we’re going to try the following:

    • Completing the run on time will have the same results it currently does in 7.2: you’ll get a new Keystone for a random dungeon that’s 1-3 levels higher than the one you just completed, based on how quickly you finished.
    • If you complete the dungeon but don’t make the timer, you’ll get a Keystone for a random dungeon that’s 1 level lower than the one you just used.
    • If you don’t complete the dungeon at all, you’ll have a Keystone for the same dungeon that’s one level lower than the one you just used.

The other thing we’re looking to change is the way that rewards are given at the end of a run. Currently, when you complete a run that upgrades your Keystone by 2 or 3 levels, you’re also given a 2nd or 3rd chest. This is because, when we believed that Keystones would be rare, we didn’t want you to miss out on any of the loot you might have collected from the runs you were “skipping.”

However, because of this, players tend to look for lower-level Keystones that they can easily stomp through, instead of higher-level Keystones that are appropriately challenging for their gear and skill. That, in turn, affects who they’re willing to invite. AOE damage output is preferred over everything else, because the only concern is how quickly you can clear through easy trash packs. And gear requirements tend to outpace what actually drops: if you could find upgrades in a Mythic 6, you’ll have a hard time finding a group, because the Mythic 6 groups are full of players who are capable of clearing 10+ and are just looking for an easy 3-chest.

With that in mind, here’s the changes we’re planning to test:

    • You no longer receive additional chests at the end of a run for completing it quickly.
    • When you finish a Mythic+ dungeon, the chest at the end will contain two items and an appropriate amount of Artifact Power.
    • If you beat the timer, regardless of how quickly, there will be a third item in the chest.
    • Keystones can still upgrade by 2 or 3 steps, so you can quickly get to a difficulty level appropriate for you.

Our overall goal with these changes is to incentivize groups to take on dungeons where they know they’re likely to see upgrades, instead of preferring keys that are far too easy for them. Once the Tomb of Sargeras raid is available on Mythic difficulty, we’ll also increase the maximum rewards from Mythic Keystone runs to level 15.

    Lore ha scritto

Welcome to the Patch 7.2.5 Public Test Realm! To kick off this phase of 7.2.5 development, we’d like to take a moment to give you a short synopsis of our major goals and content for this patch, as well as what you’ll be able to experience once PTR realms are active.Similar to Patch 7.1.5, 7.2.5 is what we’re considering a “smaller” patch for Legion. That said, it still has some pretty substantial content updates, including:

    • An epic, time-twisting questline involving everyone’s favorite walking paradox: Chromie!
    • An assortment of new events, including the Auction House Dance Party, the Moonkin Festival, and a transmog competition we’re calling the Trial of Style.
    • Three words: Black Temple Timewalking.

Another key focus for this patch is on class design, particularly for a few specs that need some extra attention. We’re likely to end up making adjustments for many specs to some degree, but we’re currently looking primarily at:

    • Destruction Warlocks
    • Outlaw and Subtlety Rogues
    • Brewmaster and Mistweaver Monks
    • Havoc Demon Hunters
    • Guardian Druids

Once the PTR realms are live, the Trial of Style will be available for testing, as well as some of our initial class changes. Talk to Flaskataur in Dalaran to test out the Trial of Style. We’re currently planning to bring the PTR realms up later this week, depending on how this initial deploy goes – we’ll let you know how things progress. Thanks, and happy testing!
